The Specialist also provides support to Plan Examiner IIs and IIIs in reviewing plans and preparing documents related to the issuing of building permits.”

This position is a skilled, professional department level position responsible to plan, organize and direct personnel, programs, policies and administration of the Building Inspection Division. A primary responsibility of this position is planning, developing, and implementing the overall building inspection strategy and direction, including the permitting and inspection program, staffing, employee/professional development, training, employee relations, performance management, and employee communications. Another primary responsibility of this position is the plan review and inspection of residential and commercial construction projects within the city. Such review includes compliance with local and state codes relating to building; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; electrical; plumbing; and erosion control activities. In addition to the codes outlined above, this position may assist with the enforcement of other municipal codes, such as, but not limited to zoning, subdivision, sign, and maintenance and occupancy.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES
A consortium between 9 – 18 Towns, Villages and Cities, servicing a wide geographical area, throughout Polk and Barron Counties are collectively issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for building inspection services, including but not limited to plan review, residential and commercial inspections, and meeting attendance when requested. Zoning Administration and code enforcement services may also be required as specified by Local Code. The services under the proposal will need to be negotiated with each municipality and can begin as early as August 1, 2017.
